Health Canada Protection

HALIFAX - Fisheries and Oceans Minister Geoff Regan, announced today, on behalf of Health Minister, Pierre Pettigrew, that Health Canada will contribute over $450,000 over two years to six Atlantic community-based organizations who work with people who are infected with or at risk for contracting HIV/AIDS.

"Canada has a collaborative approach to the fight against HIV/AIDS, which is carried out in partnership with other levels of government, non-governmental organizations and community organizations," said Minister Regan. "These projects are another example of how this integrated approach will help people infected with or at risk of HIV/AIDS."

They may be a blended family or a family of friends whose level of caring for each other has evolved into a relationship that is much more than roommates. We define our own families. Statistics Canada does not yet count every kind of family, but the latest census data tells us quite a bit about what we look like.
